Woman killed, another injured in apparent stabbing at Takoma Park apartment complex

TAKOMA PARK, Md. - A 36-year-old woman has died and another man was injured in an apparent stabbing at a Takoma Park apartment building.

Takoma Park Police Chief Alan Goldberg said officers responded to a call at around 2 p.m. Wednesday about a suspicious situation at the apartment complex located in the 600 block of Houston Avenue. They found the male victim injured near an elevator nearby the lobby. After receiving information at the scene, officers then located the female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds in an apartment upstairs.

The woman was transported to the hospital where she died from her injuries. The man was also taken to the hospital and underwent surgery.

At this point in the investigation, police said they do not believe there was any forced entry made into the apartment and there is no danger to the community.
