Winter Weather Advisory in place; snow tapering off

9:45 a.m. - Virginia State Police report 85 wrecks across the state due to roads slickened by a winter storm.

9:00 a.m. – Snow is tapering off, areas south and east of D.C. got the most snow – around 1.5 inches. Many closings and delays -

7:00 a.m. - District of Columbia government offices will open on time despite snow accumulations expected to peak at rush hour.

6:30 a.m. – Numerous closing and delays coming into the newsroom.|

5:30 a.m. – Metrorail & Metrobus operating a regular weekday schedule. |

5:00 a.m. – Expect to see snow and/or mix of snow and sleet during morning commute.
