Wife shoots, kills husband during argument on night before Thanksgiving in Woodbridge, police say

WOODBRIDGE, Va. - A woman has been arrested after police say she shot and killed her husband during an argument the night before Thanksgiving in their Prince William County home.

Police say the shooting happened just after 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 3300 block of Labourn Drive in Woodbridge.

Officers say an argument between the two escalated until the wife, identified as 60-year-old Rene Rachelle Drake, pulled a firearm on her husband and shot him in the upper body.

Investigators say 54-year-old Tyrone Timothy Drake was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers recovered the firearm and arrested the wife near the front entrance of the home without incident.

Police say Rene Drake has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bond.
