Weekend Weather: Warmer temps but rain possible Friday and through the weekend

Warmer temperatures are back but so is an unsettled weather pattern that could bring heavy rain Friday night and Sunday night and spotty showers this afternoon and at times over the weekend.

FOX 5's Mike Thomas says highs around 75 degrees are in store for the D.C. region on Friday. We'll wake up to cooler air before the warmth moves our way.

The best chance for showers on Friday will be between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. and the best chance for heavier rain will be later this evening around 11 p.m.

Keep your eye on the sky this weekend, Mike says. Neither of the days will be a wash out but be prepared for a spotty shower to make its way into the area.

On Saturday, skies clear by the afternoon giving us a chance to hit the 80-degree mark. The best chance for a passing shower Saturday will probably be during the evening hours.

On Sunday, the clouds return with some scattered showers during the day. By the late afternoon and into the evening hours another cold front approaches giving us the best chance for heavier rain.

Overall, the best chances for heavier rain come Friday night and Sunday night.
