VIDEO: Rideshare driver kidnapped in DC, forced to withdraw money at ATM, police say

The brazen kidnap and robbery of a rideshare driver in the District was caught on camera, according to officials.

DC police said two suspects forced the driver into his car which was parked outside a condo building near Emerson Street, NW and Georgia Avenue, NW at about 3:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

The two men made the victim drive a few blocks away to the Valero gas station on Georgia Avenue, NW and Farragut Street, NW where they forced him to withdraw money from an ATM.

Video captured the frightening moment on surveillance camera at the ATM as the suspects forced the rideshare driver to pull out cash. The suspects got away with about $200 and ran away down a nearby alley, according to officials.

Police described one of the suspects as a man in his 20s with short dreadlocks, a mustache and goatee. The other suspect was described by officials as a man in his 20s with a light complexion and a heavyset build.

Authorities are offering a $1,000 reward if you can help them make an arrest in the case.
