Video captures rare whale sighting in Chesapeake Bay

SOLOMONS, Md. - A rare Chesapeake Bay whale sighting was caught on camera.

The sighting happened on Friday afternoon near Solomons, Maryland.

In the video, a 35 to 40 foot humpback whale can be seen breaching several times.

A fishing party on board the 'Marcy Lynn' got a front row seat to the awesome sight. David Lehan shot the video and was working with the captains aboard the boat when the sighting happened.

He estimates the whale was in about 80 feet of water.
