Va. authorities ask for help finding missing, endangered 17-year-old girl
FAUQUIER COUNTY, Va. - Virginia officials need help finding a missing 17-year-old girl from the Warrenton area, according to the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office.
The missing girl is Karley Mae Shanks. She was last seen at her home in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 30. She was originally classified as a missing runaway, but on Monday deputies upgraded her status to missing-endangered.
Karley left her cell phone, purse, and all other belongings at her home. Officials believe she may have been wearing brown leather moccasin-type shoes and a silver heart necklace when she disappeared. Deputies believe she may be with Hunter Deforest Andrews, 18, of Front Royal, Virginia. Family members told deputies that Andrews does not have a driver's license, car, or money.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Karley Shanks is encouraged to contact the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office at 540-347-3300. A caller's identity can remain anonymous.
