Two Anne Arundel Co. police K9's get bulletproof vests

Two Anne Arundel County police K9's are being fitted with bullet and stab-proof vests thanks to the generosity of a non-profit organization.

2-year-old Leo, a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois, was gifted his vest by Vested Interest K9's, Inc. and will be embroidered with the sentiment "For your safety as you serve."

Leo is certified in Patrol and Narcotics work and has been handled by Corporal Eric Lively since 2015.

3-year-old Erby, a Belgian Malinois, will receive her vest from Dogwood Acres Pet Retreat. She is also certified in Patrol and Narcotics work and is handled by Sergeant Tommy Pleasant.

Both dogs will be outfitted in their new vests in eight to ten weeks.
