Trump inauguration: Biden’s final hours in office
WASHINGTON - President Joe Biden is spending his final hours in office on Monday before he leaves Washington, D.C. after a formal farewell. Here’s his schedule for his last day:
- In the morning, the President will receive the President’s Daily Brief. This meeting will be closed to the press.
- Then, the President and the first lady will participate in a greeting with the Vice President and the Second Gentleman. This greet at the North Portico will be covered by the in-house pool.
- Following, the President and the First Lady will welcome President-elect Trump and Mrs. Trump. This event at the North Portico will be covered by the in-house pool.

- After, the President and the First Lady will host a tea and coffee reception with President-elect Trump and Mrs. Trump. This event in the Blue Room will be closed press.
- Later, the President and the First Lady will depart the White House en route to the U.S. Capitol with President-elect Trump and Mrs. Trump. The departure from the North Grounds and the arrival to the U.S. Capitol will be covered by the in-town pool.
- Then, the President will attend the Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony for President-elect Trump. This event at the U.S. Capitol will be open to pre-credentialed media. The Vice President, the First Lady, the Second Gentleman, Vice President-elect Vance, Mrs. Trump, and Mrs. Vance will attend.
- In the afternoon, President Biden and Dr. Biden will depart the U.S. Capitol en route Joint Base Andrews. The departure from the U.S. Capitol will be covered by the in-town travel pool. The arrival to Joint Base Andrews will be open to pre-credentialed media.
- After, President Biden will deliver remarks at a farewell event with staff. These remarks at Joint Base Andrews will be open to pre-credentialed media.
- Then, President Biden and Dr. Biden will depart Joint Base Andrews en route to Santa Ynez, California. The departure from Joint Base Andrews will be open to pre-credentialed media. The arrival to Vandenberg Space Force Base will be closed press.
