Thieves steal car with child inside; Police find both in DC
OXON HILL, Md. - A vehicle with a young boy in the back seat was stolen Tuesday evening in Oxon Hill, leading to a multi-agency search that ended with the child being found safe in Washington, D.C., authorities said.
Prince George’s County Police responded to a report of a stolen car in the 6300 block of Oxon Hill Road. According to police, two suspects jumped into the vehicle and drove off, unaware there was a small child in the back seat.
The vehicle was later located unattended in the 5000 block of Hanna Place Southeast in D.C.

The child was still inside and was unharmed, according to D.C. Police spokesperson Sean Hickman.
"The child was evaluated on the scene," Hickman said.
Authorities emphasized that the incident was classified as a theft, not a carjacking. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived.
The investigation is ongoing.
