‘The Handmaid's Tale' filming in DC at National Mall

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A sea of red robes and white bonnets swarmed the National Mall on Friday as the crew of "The Handmaid's Tale" filmed for its upcoming season.

The award-winning show was spotted filming at the National Mall on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and sent social media into a frenzy.

Many of the show's stars, including lead actress Elisabeth Moss, have been spotted on set in the nation's capital.

"The Handmaid's Tale" released a trailer for its third season during the Super Bowl and featured an epic shot with the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument in the shape of a cross.
