Swastika spray-painted at Vietnam veteran's home in Silver Spring

A 77-year-old Vietnam veteran's Silver Spring home was vandalized over the weekend after a swastika was spray-painted on his front door, police say. In addition, the homeowner's American flag was stolen.

Montgomery County police say the incident was reported Sunday morning after the homeowner found his front storm door spray-painted while the flag hanging from a tree in his yard went missing.

Detectives believe the homeowner's political affiliation may be the motive for this incident after the homeowner reported previous vandalism and theft incidents. The homeowner said eggs were thrown at his home four days before this most recent vandalism. Back in late October, the homeowner's Trump/Pence election sign was stolen from his front yard.
