Four men rammed the back of a stolen Ford truck into a Woodbridge 7-Eleven location and loaded an ATM onto it, only to have the ATM fall into the street during their escape, according to Prince William County police.

Police responded to the store at 14797 Darbydale Avenue around 4:11 a.m.

While they were at the scene, an attempted carjacking was reported in the 14300 block of Westminster Lane.

The victim - a woman - told police that four men tried to steal her vehicle, implying that they had a weapon.

When her husband intervened, the quartet of would-be thieves reportedly ran away.

A police K-9 unit and a Fairfax County helicopter searched the area.

One of the men, who they believe is a suspect, has been detained.

The ATM was recovered.
