Suspect shoots self during Alexandria home robbery
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Police in Alexandria are investigating after a suspect shot himself during a robbery at a home early Monday morning.
Investigators say three men forced their way into an apartment just before 1 a.m. at the 3800 block of Executive Avenue. They were holding several knives and a firearm, according to Alexandria Police. They say the suspects demanded money, to which the victims gave them valuables.
Police say one of the suspects accidentally shot himself in the lower body during the robbery, but they say all three suspects then fled.
They say victims were not injured.
