SoberRide providing free Lyft rides on Independence Day

WASHINGTON - For those celebrating the Fourth of July, please don't drink and drive. The Washington Regional Alcohol Program's SoberRide is offering free rides in the D.C. area from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning to deter people from driving impaired.
The first 1,500 people who have the Lyft app can get $15 off one ride in the D.C. area from 7 p.m. Tuesday until 2 a.m. Wednesday by entering the promo code "SOBERJULY4" in the app. Riders must be 21 or older. You cannot reserve a SoberRide or schedule a pickup in advance.
Since 1991, the Washington Regional Alcohol Program has provided 67,432 safe rides home. SoberRide also provides free rides during other holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, St. Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo and Halloween.
