Smithsonian, National Zoo to close starting March 14 amid COVID-19 concerns

WASHINGTON - The Smithsonian and the National Zoo will temporarily close starting Saturday, March 14 as personnel grapple with the novel coronavirus that has broken out in the DMV.

Officials have not indicated when the Smithsonian and the National Zoo will re-open.

Multiple institutions and schools are closing as a result of the novel coronavirus' arrival in the D.C. area.
