Shooting near Howard University campus: Two injured

D.C. police are investigating a shooting near the campus of Howard University that left two people injured.

What we know:

The shots were fired around 3:30 p.m. on W Street near Second Street, just south of the university campus. 

Authorities say the victim, a man who was grazed in the hand and head by bullets, walked a few blocks to Howard University Hospital for treatment.

The man is reportedly conscious and breathing. 

A woman inside a nearby Howard University-owned building, College Hall South, was also injured by shattered glass from the bullets, but no one has been identified as a student.

Over 20 bullet casings were found near the intersection, indicating multiple shots were fired.

Detectives have released a surveillance photo of a vehicle they believe is connected to the shooting: a silver Infiniti with a shattered sunroof and possibly temporary tags. They are currently looking for three suspects

What we don't know:

Though police have not confirmed a motive or whether any of the victims are Howard University students, they are continuing their investigation. 

At the same time, police responded to a reported attempted armed robbery several blocks away on Georgia Avenue and Howard Place, involving two men, one of whom was armed. Authorities have confirmed the robbery is not linked to the shooting.
