Season of Wishes: Claire, 5, becomes a real princess, dines with her favorites

Like most little girls, 5-year-old Claire from Fort Meade, Maryland loves watching Disney movies. She especially likes them when they have princesses in them because they sing, dance and wear beautiful dresses! She also loves the colors pink and purple, playing with the game Candyland and listening to Britney Spears and Taylor Swift.

When Claire was diagnosed with bone cancer, watching her two favorite princesses, Cinderella and Belle, helped to cheer her up. So when Claire found out she would be receiving a wish from Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic, she knew her wish was to be a real princess! Claire couldn't wait to visit Walt Disney World® Resort and be transformed into a real princess! She was also really excited to wear all of the pretty dresses throughout the theme park. And because princesses always live in castles, seeing Cinderella's castle would be the cherry on top of a great visit.

While at the resort, Claire not only got to visit Bippity Boppity Boutique, but she also got to have dinner with some of her favorite Disney princesses!

FOX 5 DC Cares is our station's campaign to highlight the work of charitable organizations and non-profits in our community. We hope by partnering with these groups, we can help them get their message out and reach their goals.

We are teaming up with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic for their Season of Wishes campaign. Over the next several weeks, we will be sharing the wonderful work Make-A-Wish does in our area and how you can be part of the magic.
