Search continues for two fishermen missing after boat capsizes on Potomac River

Rescuers continued their search Monday morning for two fishermen who went missing when their boat capsized on the Potomac River.

The men launched around 5 am Sunday and were hoping to be back on land by about 10 am, but instead their boat capsized near the U.S. 15 bridge in Frederick County, Md., according to Maryland Natural Resources Police.

A search and rescue operation was conducted Sunday evening near Point of Rocks to find the two men. Their boat has already been recovered, but the two were last seen alive around 10 a.m. One of them was clinging to a tree, and the other was in the water.

Family members of one of the missing fishermen told FOX 5 DC they are heartbroken, but they were holding out hope the two would be found alive.

Late Sunday, Maryland Natural Resources Police identified the men as 62-year-old Lawrence Walter Grey Jr. of Brunswick, and 51-year-old Robert Evonne Lee of Frederick.
