WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Changes could be coming to one of D.C.'s most infamous traffic circles.
D.C. Mayor, Muriel Bowser's proposed budget calls for the city to buy the Wendy's in the middle of "Dave Thomas Circle" in the Northeast near New York Avenue. The plan calls for the structure to be demolished and for the redevelopment of the intersection to improve safety.
The budget calls for $35 million to be used for the project over a six-year period.
Recent data from the District Department of Transportation shows that from 2015 to 2017 more than 450 crashes happened at the intersections three distinct corners
