Registered sex offender arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting 12-year-old boy

A previously registered sex offender is under arrest after police say he sexually assaulted a 12-year-old boy after meeting him on social media.

Police say the incident happened on December 11 when 63-year-old Ramon Manuel De Los Reyes picked up the victim, who he had met online, at his home in Frederick.

Officers say De Los Reyes drive the boy to Silver Spring where he sexually assaulted him before returning him home.

Court documents reveal De Los Reyes and the boy started talking on the website Planetromeo.com, a gay dating site and app. The victim reportedly knew he was speaking with a 49-year-old. They exchanged nude photos, according to investigators.

Court papers say De Los Reyes asked to meet the boy for sex and used his in-car navigation to get to the victim's address. He picked him up while his grandmother was asleep. De Los Reyes then took him back to Montgomery County, where the two engaged in sex acts.

When the victim was driven back home to Frederick, court documents say the boy was locked out of the house. The grandmother answered and later called police.

According to detectives, De Los Reyes is a registered sex offender, and was arrested without incident on December 14. He faces sexual solicitation of a minor, 3rd degree sex offense, and 2nd-degree rape charges, which are punishable by up to 40 years in jail. He is being held without bond at the Frederick County Detention Center.

De Los Reyes was put on the sex offender registry in Maryland for an incident that happened in 2000 with a minor that was Elementary-school age child. The Maryland Department of Corrections says he served five of eight years in jail, with three years probation.

Anyone with attritional information about De Los Reyes is asked to call police at 240-578-5684 or 301-600-TIPS (8477).
