Rabid raccoon caught in Arlington
ARLINGTON, Va. (FOX 5 DC) - A rabid raccoon has been captured after it was spotted in the 1500 block of Greenbrier Street in Arlington last week.
Arlington Animal Control is reminding residents that rabies is a disease that people and animals can catch from a bite or scratch.
The disease can be fatal without prompt medical care.
If a person or pet comes in contact with an animal that might be infected, call the Arlington County Public Health Division at (703) 228-5200 and press 1.
