Power restored to thousands of Pepco customers in Dupont Circle

More than 6,000 Pepco customers in the District were without power Tuesday night as the utility company worked to repair three feeder lines that have failed.

Pepco has been working to repair the lines and secondary cables in the Dupont Circle area since 7 a.m. Tuesday.

At around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Pepco tweeted that power was restored to a majority of customers in the area. However, Pepco spokesperson Bob Hainey says there will be about a couple hundred customers who will experience power outages through Wednesday afternoon.

A warming center has been established at the Raymond Recreation Center at 3725 10th Street in Northwest D.C. until 1 a.m. Wednesday or longer if necessary.
