Police: Transgender woman assaulted, killed in Rockville hotel room

Montgomery County police announced Monday that a person found stabbed to death in a Rockville hotel room has been identified as a transgender woman and her death has been ruled a homicide.

Police said first responders responded to the Red Roof Inn located in the 16000 block of Shady Grove Road on Saturday at around 11:49 a.m. and found 22-year-old Kenneth Anthony Blakeney dead with trauma to the upper body. According to investigators, it was discovered that the victim had identified herself as a transgender female named Keyonna.

Detectives believe the victim was assaulted and killed in her hotel room in the early morning hours of Saturday and she may have been engaging in prostitution at the time.
