Police searching for 2 suspects wanted in deadly shooting of Silver Spring high school student

Prince George's County police are searching for two suspects wanted in connection to the murder of a Silver Spring teenager.

Police said 16-year-old Kevin Wilson Jr. was found shot several times in a parking lot in the 6700 block of New Hampshire Avenue in the unincorporated portion of Hyattsville Monday night. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators have identified 22-year-old Tyrell McArthur and 22-year-old Rayshawn Williams as two of the three suspects in the deadly shooting. On Wednesday, police said detectives have obtained warrants for their arrest.

Police believe Williams may be injured and may attempt to seek medical attention.

Wilson was a rising junior student at Montgomery Blair High School in Montgomery County. He was also a member of the Maryland Seahawks youth football team.

"He played on our 2016 national championship team where he was the captain with two other players," said his former coach Jarvis Thomas. "Just the leadership that he had, the overall presence that he had, when he spoke people listened. He commanded the room when he came into the room and he was a leader. Just his overall athleticism - he was pretty special on that football field."

A note and letter regarding Wilson's death was posted on the school's Facebook page:

"The Montgomery Blair Community is deeply saddened by the death of our Blazer, Kevin Wilson, II," the Facebook post said. "Kevin touched many lives and will always be in our hearts. School Psychologists & Counselors are available in our Counseling office this week & next week to meet with students & staff."

Detectives are still working to identify the third suspect in the case.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, according to police.
