Police looking to track down suspected school intruder and thief

WASHINGTON - Police are looking for a man they say is a con-artist and a serial thief.

FOX 5 has learned that Nakym Sheffield, who is suspected of stealing personal items from teachers at two Prince George's County School has been arrested for similar crimes in other Maryland schools.

Police have even found Sheffield on Facebook and have used his own pictures to tie him to the scene of the crime.

The jacket on his profile picture is the same one he wore as when he roamed the halls of Bladensburg Elementary back in 2017, where he attempted to steal credit cards and wallets inside teachers' purses.

Sheffield appears to be a connoisseur of all things lavish and even has a self-published book called "Admire My Style."

He was caught on surveillance footage walking through Accokeek Academy and Isaac Gourdine Middle.

Sheffield is believed to have snuck into empty classrooms, rooted around until he found purses and ultimately credit cards which he used almost immediately to rack up nearly a thousand dollars worth of purchases.

Sources say he is the same thief, who was already arrested for stealing from nine different schools in Montgomery County in December 2017. In those cases, his fraudulent credit card charges totaled more than $13,000 dollars.

However, through three pages of criminal court cases for Sheffield across the state of Maryland, including in Montgomery County, nearly every previous criminal charge for credit card theft and school trespassing have been dropped.
