Police looking for good Samaritan, helped restrain man who assaulted Ride On bus passenger
GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Police are looking for a good Samaritan who restrained a man who they say attacked a passenger on a Montgomery County Ride On bus in January.
Gaithersburg City police say on January 22, at around 1:25 p.m., Reko Gaines was restrained by other people on a RideOn bus at Lakeforest Bus Station, after they say he physically assaulted a person for "an unknown or unprovoked reason."
Investigators say Gaines was transported to an area hospital for evaluation but was later arrested and charged.
There is no word on the condition of the person who was assaulted.
Police say a Black man wearing a green zipped-up hoodie and tan pants was seen initially restraining Gaines, but police weren't able to get his name or contact information.
Gaithersburg police detectives are asking the good Samaritan, or anyone who knows who he is to contact police at (301) 258-6400.
