Police investigate sexual assault in Georgetown Waterfront Park
WASHINGTON - Police are investigating a sexual assault that happened in the Georgetown Waterfront Park.
Officers say the attack happened on October 19 around 7:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of Water Street when a man grabbed the victim.
The suspect fled the area and was last seen running east through the park towards the Georgetown Waterfront shops and M Street, NW.
Police released a sketch of the suspect who is described as a Caucasian or Hispanic male, with medium skin. He was approximately 5'5'' to 5'8'' and between 22 and 23 years of age.
He had a medium build, short dark messy hair, and was clean shaven. The victim described him as wearing red shorts, a blue shirt, and carrying a dark in color back pack
Police also say he spoke Spanish and English and was possibly homeless.
