Police continue investigation to see if Colesville accidents are related

Montgomery County Police are continuing their investigation into two separate accidents that happened last week to see if they are related.

The incidents happened on Friday morning along Randolph Road in Colesville.

Police say that just before 7 a.m., 71-year-old Victoria Millicent Hitchins was driving in the 200 block of Randolph Road when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Hitchins died at the scene from her injuries.

About a minute later, officers say an SUV struck a utility pole near the intersection of Randolph Road and New Hampshire Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 20-year-old Ousmane William Mohamed Barry. He was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

Barry faces no charges at this time.

Anyone with information regarding either of the accidents is asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
