Police ask for help identifying Silver Spring gas station robber

Montgomery County Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who is wanted for an armed robbery and carjacking in Silver Spring.

Officers say the suspect entered a Shell gas station around 6:05 p.m. November 25 and demanded money from the cash drawer and cigarettes. The suspect allegedly displayed a handgun on the store clerk before obtaining the items.

After getting a hold of the money and cigarettes, the suspect fled the store on foot and ran towards the gas pumps. He approached a woman who was filling her car with gas, and again displayed his handgun. This time he demanded the woman get out of her car and hand him the keys, when she did so he fled the gas station located at 9510 Georgia Avenue in the woman's 2008 black Scion xD, according to officials. Fortunately, the woman was not injured in the carjacking.

Officials believe this is the same suspect who had previously committed three armed robberies at a nearby BP gas station.
