Police arrest 2 accused in 'exit ramp' scam; warn drivers to be alert

Maryland authorities have arrested two people they believe are connected to a string of 'exit ramp' scam that have targeted drivers on roadways statewide.

Baltimore County Police say Aron Miclescu and Constantin Stan face charges including reckless endangerment and disturbing the peace for their alleged involvement in the scam.

Officers say the scam involves imposters who pose as stranded motorists who flag down cars and ask for money. The incidents can cause traffic delays and in some cases, accidents.

Maryland State Police in Prince George's, Montgomery, Harford, Howard, Anne Arundel and Allegany Counties have all reported instances of the 'exit ramp' scam.
