Pay It Forward: Cup of Joe provides breakfast bags to homeless in DC
WASHINGTON - FOX 5's Pay It Forward highlighted Cup of Joe, a program that was started by Catholic Charities to provide breakfast bags to the homeless in D.C.
Catholic Charities' eight homeless shelters in D.C. do not receive breakfast in the morning so Cup of Joe wants to ensure the homeless have food to eat as well as a place to sleep.
Volunteers can attend a Cup of Joe packing event or host one of their own. Groups make about 400 bags per session and Catholic Charities will also provide groups with materials.
Cup of Joe is in need of volunteers to pack the bags and donations are always appreciated. Pay It Forward sponsor Easterns Automotive Group donated $1,000 to the cause.
For more information about how you can get involved, visit the Cup of Joe page on the Catholic Charities website.
