Ozzy Osbourne, Prince of Darkness, dies at 76
The Hollywood Reporter's Shirley Halperin joins LiveNOW's Austin Westfall to reflect on the life and legacy of Ozzy Osbourne.
Legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne died Tuesday at the age of 76, leaving behind not only a towering influence on the world of heavy metal, but a large family shaped by decades in the spotlight.
He is survived by his wife Sharon and six children — a mix of biological and adopted — who grew up in the long shadow of fame but carved their own identities in a world that first knew them as the children of rock royalty.
Ozzy settled down and married twice — once to Thelma Riley, with whom he had two biological children and one adopted child. His second marriage was to Sharon Osbourne, with whom he has three children.
Ozzy Osbourne’s kids react to death
What they're saying:
Kelly Osbourne broke her silence Thursday on her father’s death, sharing a personal tribute via Instagram Stories.
"I feel unhappy I am so sad," she wrote, quoting the 2003 duet she recorded with Ozzy, "Changes." "I lost the best friend I ever had."
Jack Osbourne’s ex-wife, Lisa Stelly, also posted a tribute to Ozzy on Instagram. While she did not include a caption, the post featured a throwback photo of Ozzy with their children, drawing emotional reactions from fans and family alike.

Ozzy’s family also confirmed his death in a statement on Tuesday morning.
"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time," a family statement said.

During an interview with FOX Local in 2023, Kelly opened up about having fully embraced being a mom.
"It's the most fulfilling thing that has ever happened to me, she shared. "I love it. It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. I love all of it – the stuff that would drive people nuts. I don't care if I've slept. I don't care if I've eaten. I don't care if I've showered. Everything about my life is about my baby. And I love making sure that he's happy and that he has everything that he needs. And I just, I love being a mom."

Kelly Osbourne guest hosts 'Beat Shazam' on FOX
Kelly Osbourne, known for her role in "The Osbournes," will host "Beat Shazam" with Nick Cannon. The interactive game show challenges teams to identify hit songs of all time for a chance to win up to $1 million dollars.
In this stage of Osbourne’s life as a new mom, she shared that happiness is "contentment."
"If I can sit in a moment and just be myself and be completely fine with that, that to me is what happiness is. And learning to do that is difficult, and it doesn't happen every day. And you know, it's a work in progress."
She concluded, "I thought I knew what happiness was back then, but then I had a baby, and now I know what happiness is."
Who is Jack Osbourne?
Jack Osbourne, a media personality who has both English and American citizenship, also starred in "The Osbournes" when it debuted.
Jack was 16 when The Osbournes debuted, and like his sister, he struggled with substance abuse. He entered a rehab program while the show was still on the air, and has been sober ever since, according to PEOPLE.
"I don't want my life to be controlled by a drug," he said in an MTV interview shortly after he finished treatment.
Since "The Osbournes" concluded, Osbourne has worked as a producer and TV host of travel, fitness and paranormal investigation shows, including "Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie," "Ozzy & Jack's World Detour" and "Portals to Hell."
In 2024, Jack, Ozzy, Sharon and Kelly relaunched their family podcast "The Osbournes Podcast" after a five-year hiatus. Shortly after, the Osbournes debuted their new platform, Osbourne Media House, which is described as a "one-stop shop for all Osbourne family entertainment."
During his interview with Fox News Digital, Jack shared the inspiration behind Osbourne Media House.
"We rely so much on networks and people to hire us for jobs," he said. "And I was like, ‘But we have our own platform. We have our own reach. Why aren’t we unifying and utilizing that?'"
Last year, during an interview with Fox News Digital, Jack reflected on his experience growing up as the son of a famous rock star.
"For me, it was relatively normal. But because it was just my life," he said. "But when you compare it to, like, all the other kids that I was going to school with, you know, it was different."
He continued, "There was a lot of travel, there was a lot of kind of craziness. It was very loud everywhere we went. But it was cool. I got to do some really amazing things."
In October 2012, he married actress Lisa Stelly in a ceremony in Hawaii. Over the course of their relationship, they welcomed three daughters: Pearl Clementine, Andy Rose and Minnie Theodora. The couple divorced in March 2019.

From the archive (1978) - Ozzy Osbourne: 'I want to be young forever'
Ozzy Osbourne says in a 1978 Black Sabbath interview that heavy metal music keeps him feeling young.
In late 2019, Jack started dating Aree Gearhart and in 2022 they welcomed a baby daughter, Maple Artemis.
"I'm very happy to announce Maple Artemis Osbourne!" Jack captioned a photo of the baby. "Aree and Maple are doing great and are happy and healthy."
Who is Aimee Osbourne?
Aimee, the oldest daughter to Ozzy and Sharon, has stayed largely out of the spotlight.
She did not participate in the filming of "The Osbournes."
"She felt too that she didn't want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea — it was appalling to her," Sharon said of Aimee during a 2018 episode of "The Talk."
Aimee later said in a radio interview that she wanted to maintain her privacy by not appearing on the show.
"I had grown up around having a pretty well-known dad anyway, and ... I always really valued my privacy within that family," she said. "And for me personally, and for who I am, you know, as far as morally and also just to give myself a chance to actually develop into a human being as opposed to just being remembered for being a teenager, it didn't really line up with what I saw my future as."
Aimee also followed in her dad's musical footsteps, appearing in the MTV musical adaptation of Wuthering Heights. Now, she's the lead singer of the synth-pop band ARO.
Ozzy Osbourne and Thelma Riley’s children
Ozzy also had two biological children, Jessica and Louis Osbourne, with his first wife, Thelma Riley.
According to Page Six, Jessica got candid about her relationship with her father in the 2011 documentary "God Bless Ozzy Osbourne," saying, "It was a very erratic childhood with dad."
Jessica and her brother Louis also recalled the guitarist rarely being home and always going to bars, E! News reported. However, according to the Osbourne family statement, Louis was present alongside his siblings — Jack, Kelly and Aimee — when Ozzy died.
Ozzy also adopted Riley's son, Elliot Kingsley, from a previous relationship. Kinglsey tends to keep out of the spotlight with no public social media accounts.
Ozzy Osbourne dies
Dig deeper:
Ozzy died Tuesday following several ailments as he aged, including Parkinson’s disease, which he revealed in 2020.
The then-71-year-old rock star revealed he received his diagnosis in 2019 during a "Good Morning America" interview alongside his wife, and said that it was the "most painful, miserable year" of his life. The singer also suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and had been diagnosed with COVID-19 in April 2022.
In November 2023, Ozzy also revealed he was diagnosed with a spinal tumor, but remained hopeful that despite his continued ailments, he would once again be able to perform so he could get a chance to say goodbye to his fans.
In July 2025, Osbourne, along with his Black Sabbath bandmates, gave a final concert to some 40,000 fans at Villa Park soccer stadium in Birmingham, central England.
Osbourne sang from a black throne that rose up from under the stage.
"I don’t know what to say, man, I’ve been laid up for like six years. You have no idea how I feel — thank you from the bottom of my heart," Osbourne said. "You’re all … special. Let’s go crazy, come on."
