Northern Virginia day care investigated for sex assaults on children to re-open

A Northern Virginia day-care center that employed a teacher who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing children is slated to re-open in January, FOX 5 has confirmed.

Minnieland Academy shut down its operation in June in the wake of the scandal involving Taylor Boykin.

In a letter to parents, officials said they were shutting down due to dwindling enrollment.

Prince William County police began investigating the Bristow location after a 5-year-old girl reported to a parent that Boykin inappropriately touched her.

The parent then told child-protective services.

Boykin was arrested on April 20, but parents did not learn about his arrest until the following week when media reports surfaced.

The Bristow location was raided by authorities in May and officers in unmarked vehicles were seen carrying computers and brown paper bags full of materials from the day care.
