Naked hotel guest tried to stab officers in Prince William County, police say
DUMFRIES, Va. - Police officers needed to use a Taser to subdue a naked man who tried to stab them on Sunday afternoon, according to Prince William County police.
Police responded to a Holiday Inn location in Dumfries around 12:54 p.m. on Sunday after employees reported that a customer was wandering through the hallways and causing damage to a room.
Police say Joshua Aaron Ginchereau allegedly pulled out two knives during an altercation with the officers, who ultimately used a Taser on him.
Ginchereau was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Four officers suffered what police described as minor injuries.
Investigators say they found drugs in Ginchereau's room.
The 36-year-old Woodbridge man is charged with four counts of attempted malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer, four counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
Ginchereau has been denied bond.
