Mountain lion reported near Prince William Co. elementary school

There was extra precaution taken during dismissal on Friday at Chris Yung Elementary School in Bristow after a mountain lion was reported nearby the school.

A Prince William County Public Schools spokesperson said students were brought indoors after a person reportedly saw the animal outside at around 3:20 p.m.

As a result, parents of students who walk home were asked to pick up their children from school. Prince William County police were also on hand to help assist school staff to escort students to their buses.

No other sightings of the mountain lion have been reported.
