Montgomery County police shoot armed man in Germantown, officials say

An armed man was shot by Montgomery County police in Germantown on Sunday, according to officials.

Police responded to the scene at Cross Laurel Court at about 2:40 p.m. after reports of an armed man threatening people in the area. When officers arrived at the scene they encountered the suspect in a cul-de-sac.

During the encounter, officers shot the man, according to officials. The suspect was rushed to the hospital where he was last listed in serious condition.

No officers were injured during the shooting.

Police have not indicated what led up to the shooting, nor have they identified the reportedly armed man or who shot him.
