Minnieland Daycare Academy in Bristow to close Friday; man facing child sex abuse charges in court

BRISTOW, Va. - The man accused of sexually abusing children at the Minnieland Daycare Academy in Bristow will be in court Friday, the same day the business is set to close.

Taylor Boykin has been indicted on a total of 22 felony charges. The 27-year-old assistant teacher at Minnieland Academy was accused of sexually abusing four children all under five years old.

Prince William County police said the investigation began when a 5-year-old girl told her parents she had been inappropriately touched by Boykin. The investigation is still ongoing.

In a letter sent home to parents by the day care, which was obtained by FOX 5, Minnieland Academy said in part, "Despite our desire to continue offering service at the school, our enrollment has decreased to the level where we cannot offer programs that meet our curriculum and student socialization standards. For this reason, we have decided to provide you with this thirty day notice that classroom operations at our Bristow school will cease effective Friday, June 15."
