Metro taking steps to reassure riders 1-year after deadly L'Enfant Plaza incident
WASHINGTON - Tuesday marks one year since a deadly smoke incident at L'Enfant Plaza station and Metro is taking steps to reassure concerned riders.
In an open letter published in the Express Newspaper, Metro's new General Manager Paul Wiedefeld wrote that the company is working hard to restore trust and confidence in the system.
Wedefeld also said is first priority is to hire a new chief safety officer.
