Man shot nearby Brookland Metro station

WASHINGTON - A man was shot in the parking lot area nearby the Brookland Metro station Friday afternoon, according to Metro.

A Metro spokesperson says the victim suffered a graze wound to his ear at around 4:09 p.m. on Michigan Avenue about 100 yards outside of the Metro station. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Metro Transit Police say they are looking for a suspect vehicle described as a silver midsize sedan, possibly a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. The suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion wearing a black baseball cap.

Metro says the Kiss and Ride area of the station is closed for the police investigation, but the station remains open and rail and bus service are not being affected.
