Man killed in Northwest DC shooting
WASHINGTON - D.C. police said a man was fatally shot in Northwest D.C. Tuesday afternoon.
D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said police received a call just after 4 p.m. for a shooting in the 4500 block of Illinois Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was sitting in a car when he was shot.
He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Lanier said police are on the lookout for a person who was seen running from the shooting scene. He is described as either black male with a light complexion or a Hispanic male. He is about 5'9" to 5'10" and was wearing a dark-colored or black hoodie with a red zipper along with blue jeans.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call D.C. police.
