Man killed after being shot several times in Waldorf

WALDORF, Md. - Detectives for the Charles County Sheriff's Office are investigating a deadly shooting Thursday night in Waldorf.

Officials say they received a call at around 8:25 p.m. for shots fired at Holly Avenue and Spruce Street. Responding officers found a man on the side of the road shot multiple times. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff's office says a dark car fled the scene. No further information was given.
