Man found dead in car outside of Landover community center
LANDOVER, Md. - A man has been found dead inside a car at the parking lot of a community center in Landover, police said.
According to Maryland-National Capital Park Police, the victim was located at around 7 p.m. Thursday in the back seat of the vehicle parked at the Kentland Community Center in the 2400 block of Pinebrook Avenue.
There were some summer activities going on for children at the community center at the time the victim was found. A person said that everyone inside the building was placed on lockdown, but they were cleared to leave later on.
The car where the victim was found, a maroon-colored Chrysler PT Cruiser, was towed from the parking lot at around 10 p.m.
Maryland-National Capital Park Police is leading the investigation and a forensic team and a medical examiner were also seen at the scene.
