Man dresses up as woman during bank robbery in Prince William County
DUMFRIES, Va. - Police in Prince William County are searching for a male suspect who dressed up as a woman during a bank robbery.
The robbery happened at around 2:25 p.m. Wednesday at the TD Bank in the 16700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Dumfries. Investigators say the suspect passed a note to the teller demanding money. After the employee complied with the request, the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police say there was no weapon brandished and no injuries were reported.
Despite a search with a police K-9 and help from Fairfax County police's helicopter, Prince William County police were not able to locate the bank robber.
The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build standing about 5-feet-10 inches tall and weighs around 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a long, dark-colored wig, a black and white skirt, black socks, black sandals, a black jacket and was carrying a black purse.
