Man charged with murder at Alexandria park

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Alexandria police charged a man in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old at Four Mile Run Park.

Edwin Alexander Guerreo Umana, 18, of Arlington, was charged with killing Eduardo David Chandias Almendarez. His body was found on Dec. 4.

The suspect is being held without bond, according to police. Police say it is gang-related.

Authorities also announced Wednesday an arrest in connection with a separate gang-related murder at an Alexandria playground in Nov. 2015.

The FBI and Homeland Security worked with police in both cases.
