Police say a man shot his mother-in-law in the back after the bullet he fired at an armadillo, ricocheted off the animal, and entered the woman's home.
The incident happened Sunday night in Georgia's Lee County.
According to an online report on WALB.com, 54-year-old Larry McElroy spotted the animal and fired his 9 mm pistol at it.
The bullet killed the animal – but also ricocheted off of a fence and went through the back door of his mother-in-laws mobile home. The bullet then went through the recliner the woman was sitting in.
74-year-old Carol Johnson is expected to be ok.
No charges were files.
