Malfunctioning ATM spits out $100 bills instead of $10 bills

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A malfunctioning ATM had customers receiving $100 bills instead of $10 bills overnight.

Harris County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the Bank of America on the North Freeway at FM 1960 around midnight Sunday.

Several people had lined up after word got out about the malfunction on social media.

After about two hours, a DPS trooper spotted one of the social media posts.

Authorities guarded the machine to keep anyone else from using it until it was fixed.

Bank of America sent FOX 26 this statement:
