Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, JetBlue send local children to Walt Disney World

Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic and JetBlue are sending three local children and their families on a trip to Walt Disney World.

Volunteers greeted the children as they arrived in limousines at Reagan National Airport on Thursday.

All three children are battling separate health conditions. The oldest, 9-year-old Kaitlynn of Waldorf, received a liver transplant, 4-year-old Evelyn of Fairfax Station has been diagnosed with a nervous system disorder and 4-year-old Samuel of Silver Spring has congenital heart disease.

Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic serves children who reside in the District of Columbia, Maryland and northern Virginia.

The Mid-Atlantic chapter has granted more than 9,600 wishes since 1983.
