Kids escape home in Annapolis after armed man enters through unlocked door, police say

Two juveniles escaped through an apartment's bedroom window after police said a man entered through an unlocked door armed with a knife on Thursday.

Police say the juveniles told them a man entered through an unlocked door at the home int he 1100 block of Madison Street carrying a black object in his hand at about 8:20 p.m.

The juveniles told officers they didn't know the man and locked themselves in a bedroom until police arrived.

When police responded, they helped the juveniles out of the home through a window. They arrested the man, identified as 32-year-old Larenzo Martin, who they said had a spring-loaded knife in his pocket.

Martin was charged with first, third, and fourth-degree burglary, false imprisonment, and carrying a dangerous weapon. He was being held without bond.
