Kevin Swain, firefighter shot in Prince George's County, released from hospital
A 19-year-old firefighter shot four times while responding to a welfare check in Temple Hills, Md., was released from the hospital on April 23.
Kevin Swain, of the Morningside Volunteer Fire Department, was responding with police officers to a 911 call for a medical welfare check at a single-family home in the 5000 block of Sharon Road at around 7:30 p.m. on April 15 when he was injured.
37-year-old Prince George's County Firefighter and Paramedic John Ulmschneider, a 13-year veteran of the force, died in the incident. The man responsible for the shooting has not been charged.
Prince George's County Fire Department spokesperson Mark Brady tweeted a fire engine picked up Swain from the hospital at 6:45 p.m.
